THERAPEUTIC AND DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

I am trained in a variety of techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue, myofascial release and Thai yoga massage and will use them alone or in combination according to your needs and preference.  Each appointment will begin with a brief interview in order to determine any changes to your health and to address what your present concerns are.  I recognize the important role self care plays in supporting the benefits of massage therapy and advise my clients on appropriate exercises and home-care they can perform to enhance their treatment.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE

Thai yoga massage is rooted in Aryuvedic medicine and utilizes yogic stretches, rhythmic rocking and movement through various ranges of motion. The practitioner applies strategically placed pressure using her hands, elbows (and sometimes feet!), in order to release tension from the body and to enhance the flow of the body’s internal energy. Both client and practitioner wear comfortable clothing in order to allow ease of movement. The treatment can be done on the mat or the table.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Add the benefits of thermotherapy to your massage treatments for only $10. The incorporation of hot and cold (optional) jade stones into your treatment enhances the usual benefits of massage (eg., relaxation, decreased pain and stiffness) but can also decrease inflammation.
